MITCHELL– Johnnie Eugene Jenkins, 81, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Mitchell Manor.
Born December 24, 1938, in Bedford, he was the son of Henry Thomas and Lillie Mae (Box) Jenkins. He married Jetta Louise Williams July 8, 1961.
John retired from Lehigh Cement Plant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and had served as Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and choir member. John enjoyed singing, golfing, and was a sanctioned umpire. He was a U. S. Army veteran.

His father; mother, Lillie Mae Graham; and siblings, twin sister, Janet Eagan; Helen Cazee, Arthur Jenkins, Hubert Jenkins, Billy Dean Jenkins, Perry Jenkins, Alice Stearns, Leatha McCormick, and Ethel Allen, preceded him in death.
Interment was Thursday, April 16, at Mitchell Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Reggie Clark officiating. Military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
