BEDFORD – Katherine Sue (Costin) Stroud, 66, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at her residence.

Born February 21, 1953, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she was the daughter of Alfred and Bonnie (Tully) Costin.  She married John Robert Stroud III March 1, 1975, and he preceded her in death December 12, 2018.

She retired from MISO where she was manager of information technology and previously worked at Indiana University Health in Bloomington over 20 years.  Katherine enjoyed weaving and quilting.   She loved a variety of music, theater, art, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids.  Katherine was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where she served as choir director and was very involved.  She was enthusiastic, creative, and encouraging.

Her parents; husband; brother, Allan Lynn Costin; and brother-in-law, Ralph Bruce, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Bill McKee officiating.  Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorial Gifts: Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services or Bedford Little Theater.

    I had the pleasure of working with Katherine when she joined MISO. She was a very compassionate and people oriented leader, who always cared for her team and peers. So sorry that we lost her.

    I am very sad to hear of Katherine's passing and my condolences go out to her family. I had the pleasure of working with Katherine and I remember she always walked into a room with an air of warmth & calm and a bright smile. She was a wonderful leader and mentor and will be deeply missed.
