MITCHELL – Lillian Rose Vanscoy, 74, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born January 8, 1948, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of William and Ruth (Gahimer) Southworth.  She married Leroy Vanscoy April 6, 1966, and he preceded her in death December 6, 2018.

Lillian had been employed at the Jay-C Deli and had assisted her husband with his business.  She enjoyed crocheting and cooking and was a very sweet and generous person.

Lillian was a member of the Mitchell First Church of God.

Surviving:                   son, Lee (Christy Ann) Vanscoy of Mitchell

                   grandchildren, Cody, Audriana, Jazlyn

                         twin sister, Janet Spain of Ohio

                            brothers, William Southworth of Shelbyville

                                           David Southworth of Shelbyville

Cremation was chosen.

    Lillian was a very sweet lady. I often talked to her at the grocery. She and Leroy were acquainted w my son, Michael, who had a sailboat. Great people! I am very sorry for your loss.

    I only worked with Sweet Lily for a few years at JC but she was the Sweetest, Kindest, most hard working Lady in the Deli. I pray that Heaven has a wonderful library so Sweet Lily can keep on readind. I know she loved her son Lee and family. Gonna miss yoou Sweet Lady!
