PALM COAST, FLORIDA — Lori Lynn Rawlins, 46 passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Palm Coast Florida. She was born on November 28, 1969 in Bloomington, Indiana to Army COL ( Ret) Stephen and Geni Clouse.

    Her father served as a career military officer, allowing Lori to grow up in a variety of locations including Georgia, Indiana, Panama, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Italy, New Jersey, and Tennessee. She was an avid reader and animal lover. Lori graduated from Northeast High School in Clarksville, TN in 1987. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and completed her bachelor’s degree at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN in 1999, majoring in psychology, which led to her professional career in social work.

   She married Norman Carter Rawlins III on December 23, 1992. They had two children, Lauren Brittany Rawlins born July 23, 1993, and Norman Carter Rawlins IV born November 5, 1994.

   Lori and her children moved to Palm Coast, FL in 2000, where she began work with St. Augustine Center for Living and the Florida Department of Children and Families. She strove to improve the lives of the physically and mentally disabled in St. Johns, Flagler, and Volusia counties in Florida.

    Lori is survived by her parents, Stephen and Geni Clouse; daughter, Lauren Brittany Rawlins and son, Norman Carter Rawlins IV, all of Palm Coast, FL. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clovis “Beanie” Deckard and Pearl Thompson Deckard; and paternal grandparents, Paul and Wilda Cooper Clouse, all of Mitchell, IN.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Lori Rawlins Memorial Fund, Pine Lakes Animal Hospital in Palm Coast FL, to assist financially deprived clients receive medical treatment for their pets. Please call 386-447-7381 to donate.

   A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, July 16, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel of  Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  A private burial will follow in the Sheeks Cemetery.

   Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
