SALEM Madeline Elizabeth Thixton, 91, Salem, passed away at 5:45 a. m. Friday, July 8, 2005, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born February 15, 1914, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Asa A. and Otie May (Cornwell) Chastain. She married Carl W. Thixton April 5, 1942, and he preceded her in death July 2, 1972.
She was a member of Lost River Primitive Baptist Church, Vernon Township Farm Bureau, and past worthy matron of Campbellsburg Order of Eastern Star. She was a 1931 graduate of Campbellsburg High School.

Her parents; husband; and brother, Kenneth C. Chastain preceded her in death.
Burial was in Claysville Cemetery, July 8, with Brother Darrin Chastain officiating.
