MITCHELL Marion Dwight “Kory” Pugh, 75, Mitchell, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center.

Born January 19, 1933, in Lee County, Virginia, he was the son of Arthur Elmer and Margaret Jesse (Mize) Pugh. He married Priscilla Rose Strange September 19, 1958.

He retired from Naval Surface Warfare CenterCrane. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church.

Kory was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

His parents; sisters, Mary Lynn Crusenberry and Reba Ernestine Archer; and brothers, Gaius Arthur Pugh, Festus Borden Pugh, and Cyrhl Elmer Pugh, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
