MITCHELL – Mary Catherine Taylor, 97, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at White River Lodge in Bedford.

Born March 2, 1922, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Noble and Grace (Tackett) Bowden.  She married Emmett H. Taylor in 1969, and he preceded her in death May 29, 1984.

Mary retired from Jay-C Food Store with 25 years of service.  She was a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed yard work and being outdoors.

Brandon (Tammy) Hall of Mitchell

Her parents; husband; sons, Greg Bowden and Donald Hall; and siblings, Bernard Bowden, Leonard Bowden, Lester Bowden, Chester Bowden, Bob Bowden, Helen Bosley, and Virginia Burton, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday April 26, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastors Joel and Karolyn Parsons officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

    I worked with Mary at Jay C in the 80's, then reacquainted with her at church in the late 90's. She was such a great lady!
