MITCHELL Mary Louise Akin, 91, Mitchell, went to be the Lord at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital, Bloomington.
Born January 24, 1916, in Paoli, she was the daughter of Bert H. and Florence (Taylor) Roberts. She was first married to Arnold Shoopman. Her second marriage was to Austin Akin September 8, 1956, and he preceded her in death May 13, 1990.
She had been employed at Reliance Manufacturing and Central Foundry and was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church.

Her parents; husband; a son and daughter in infancy; brothers, Cecil and Herman Roberts, infant John Roberts; sisters, Edna Jones and Faye Pemberton, and infant Thelma Roberts; a granddaughter and a great granddaughter, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Wesleyan Church with Rev. Stephen Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the church.
