MITCHELL – Michael L. Hughett, 65, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at his residence.

Born May 6, 1952, in Lawrence County, he was he son of Theophilus and Sleta Mae (Hodges) Hughett.  He married Mary McLaughlin February 23, 1974.

Michael was a mechanic and a 1970 graduate of Mitchell High School.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.

His parents preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, at Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
