MITCHELL Mike D. Gerkin, 51, Mitchell, passed away at 8:33 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born February 24, 1957, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Bernard and Helen (Pruett) Gerkin. He married Glenda Kern May 26, 1995.
He was employed at Hall Brothers Trucking Company.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Frank Ira officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
