BEDFORD, INDIANA Opal G. Stilwell, 92, Bedford, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009, at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born November 1, 1916, in Orange County, she was the daughter of John Frank and Charlotte Marie (Cox) Thompson. She married James Aubrey Stilwell May 1, 1937, and he preceded her in death September 25, 1969.
Opal was a beautician and a graduate of Cuzco High School. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Olney, Illinois, and attended the Free Methodist Church in Bedford. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America.

Her parents; husband; and sister, Fern Wagner, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Reed Beard officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Oaktown Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
