MITCHELL – Randall L. (Randy) Young, 58, Mitchell, passed away at 2:16 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born December 30, 1946, in Bedford, he was the son of Ralph and Helen (Blackwell) Young. He married Avril Hunt March 2, 1968, and she survives.
He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1964, attended the University of Evansville, and was a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church. He was branch manager of Integra Bank in Mitchell. He had served on the Dunn Memorial Hospital Board of Governors, Lawrence County Mental Health Association, Mitchell Community Schools School Board, and was on the founding board of the Lawrence County Community Foundation. He chaired the Persimmon Festival in 1980, and was a member of the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce, Hoosier Uplands Senior Games, and Ducks Unlimited.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam War and a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

His father and sister, Monta Sue Senger, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Reverend Lewis Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
