BEDFORD – Renata Lynn (Hoggatt) VanMeter, 65, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born December 27, 1954, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Rex and Norma (Forler) Hoggatt.  She married Roy Eugene “Rick” VanMeter December 16, 1983.

Renata was homemaker and a graduate of Monrovia High School in 1973.  She was a member of the Bedford congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Renata enjoyed her family and was faithful to her church.  She was a loving mother.

Her father; mother, Norma Knight; daughter Kelly VanMeter; grandson, Cody Eugene Keith; great granddaughter, McKayla Lynn Chastain; and brother, Darrell Hoggatt,  preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Doug Kimble officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.  The family requests that masks be worn.

    She was a sweet lady. I was lucky to have the opportunity to meet her last fall and enjoyed spending a couple days with her. I loved her sense of humor. She will be missed . May God bless her family.
