MITCHELL – Roanna J. Reynolds, 92, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Mitchell Manor.

Born March 20, 1926, in Rabbitsville, she was the daughter of Dearl Edward and Thelma Lucille (Edwards) Cooper.  She married Elgan Reynolds December 16, 1943, and he preceded her in death July 24, 2006.

Roanna was a homemaker and loved farming.  She was of the Christian faith, and was a Red Cross Gray Lady.  Everyone knew her as a feisty, spunky lady who was always willing to help a neighbor.

Her parents; husband; son, Ronald Wayne Reynolds; grandson, Dearl Reynolds II; and siblings, Thelma Connerley, Wayne Cooper, and Archie Cooper, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Allen Burris officiating.  Burial will be in Talbott Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

    Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Roanna. It’s so hard to lose someone we love, but the seeming finality of death is what makes it especially difficult. Job 14:14,15 gives us confidence that Jehovah God yearns to bring back to life the dead who are preserved in his memory. The Bible, gives us a wonderful hope of living in a paradise on earth and seeing the resurrection of our dead loved ones. (Luke 23:43; John 5:28,29) May this bring you some comfort and strength, remembering that God will soon wipe away our tears and swallow up death forever. (Isaiah 25:8)

    My most sincere condolences to the Family and may you ALL be comforted in this very difficult time. Personally, I feel blessed by having the opportunity to make her acquaintance and to have the opportunity to visit with Roanna in recent months as she shared many beautiful stories of her childhood connection with my Briscoe Family from so many years ago. Indeed, getting to know Roanna was a blessing and she will always be remembered as a kind and sweet lady forever, and forever.
