MITCHELL Robert H. “Bob” Thayer, 76, Mitchell, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009, at his residence.
Born December 23, 1932, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Robert Grant and Minnemay (Havens) Thayer. He married Theresa (Porter) Banks September 1, 2009.
Robert was a medical sales representative for Ohmeda Company and a member of Tulip Street Christian Church.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from the U. S. Air National Guard and U. S. Air Force as Chief Master Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1114.

His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Darrin Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Ames Chapel Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
