BLOOMINGTON—Roger Eugene Cottengain, 65, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida.
Born April 20, 1952, in Bedford, he was the son of Arthur and Helen (Bex) Cottengain. He married Patricia L. Taylor May 21, 1977.
Roger retired from General Electric with 37 years of service. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1970 and received an associate degree from Ivy Tech. Roger was a member of Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville, and enjoyed being with his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. He liked fishing, boating, and hunting.
Roger was a disabled U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

His parents and grandson, George Edward Jenkins II, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Steve Von Bokern officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
