MITCHELL – Ron Green, Sr., Mitchell, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, at his home.
Born June 27, 1942, in Washington County, he was the son of Elmer Newton and Florence Roberta (Reynolds) Green. He married Joan L. Terry July 1, 1960, and she preceded him in death June 27, 2007.
He retired from Lehigh Portland Cement Company with 25 years of service, and graduated from Orleans High School in 1960.
A member of the Army National Guard of Indiana, he served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm and was honorably discharged in 2002. He was a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

His parents and wife preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Brown and Mayor Morris Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery with military honors accorded by Fort Knox Honor Guard, Indiana National Guard, Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250, and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
