MITCHELL Roy L. Abel, 82, Mitchell, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.
Born May 1, 1928, in West Baden Springs, he was the son of William and Grace (Allen) Abel. He married Margie Alice Parsons April 29, 1950, and she preceded him in death February 11, 2000.
He was owner of A and A Tree Service and drove a truck, and attended the Campbellsburg First Baptist Church.
He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and served as a Tomb Guard Sentinal at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

His parents; wife; and eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, in Mitchell Cemetery with Lee Hupp officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
