MITCHELL Roy Wigley, Sr., 87, Mitchell, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, at StoneBridge Health Campus, Bedford.
Born June 3, 1918, in Lawrence County, he was the son of William Hugh And Ida Belle (Terry) Wigley. He was first married to Viola Brock and then married Myrtie C. (Creech) DeWeese August 31, 1957, and she preceded him in death.
He retired from Indiana Natural Gas and was a member of Bonds Chapel United Methodist Church and a life member of Fraternal Order of Police.

His parents; wife; sons, Roy W. Wigley, Jr., Terry Wilson Wigley, and Jerry N. Wigley; stepdaughter, LaVerne J. DeWeese; sisters, Minnie G. Todd and Mabel Cleveland; brothers, Harry B. Wigley, William J. Wigley, and Emory D. Wigley; and granddaughter, Susan Ellis, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 8, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Chaplains Merle and Nellie Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
