MITCHELL – The world lost one of the most spunky, hardheaded, understanding, wonderful women.  She fought a short, hard battle with cancer this year, but has passed with her loved ones at her side on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at her residence.  Sandra Lynn (Sergent) Lessig was 48 years old.

Sandra was the dedicated wife of Randall Lessig who carries on her love for their animals in her absence.  She never met an animal she wouldn’t try to love.  Sandra was a creative soul that loved to cross stitch, crochet and sew. Loving, protective, fierce mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she was a seven-year employee of Cook, Inc.

She was the daughter of Vernon Darrell and Nelva Denise (Middleton) Sergent, granddaughter of Lloyd and Rose Ella (King) Middleton and Morris and Mattie (Lucas) Sergent who preceded her in death.

Sandra is survived by children, Larry Edward and Andrea Jackson of Floyd’s Knobs, Indiana, Thomas and Samantha Jackson of Owensboro, Kentucky, Wendy Elise (Jackson) and Jacob Lunsford of Crestwood, Kentucky, Sarah Rose Jackson of Jeffersonville, Indiana; identical twin sister, Pamela Lynn (Sergent) and David Perez of Mitchell, Indiana, Henderson, Kentucky, and Yauco, Puerto Rico; little sister, Caroline “Carrie” (Sergent) and Cory Roby of Mitchell, Indiana; and five grandchildren with the sixth due any day.

She chose cremation and will be interred at Port Williams Cemetery on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. Sandra requested a celebration of life party and that will be conducted at a later date.

Aunt Sandra was one of the loveliest people I'd ever met. We'd bonded early on with a mutual love of Wicca, and later she helped me through the most trying time of my life when she delivered the eulogy at my daughter's funeral. She will be forever loved and missed

Sandra was one of the most light hearted, free spirited, caring individual that I had the pleasure to get to know. Firstvthrough her husband Randy and then through our work at Cook. We have shared many laughs together. She and I shared a love for animals so it was always easy to talk about our fur babies. Her love for her children was unconditional. It was alaways so easy to laugh with her. Sandra you will be missed by many.

It was a lot of fun going to to school and sharing identical twin stories with Sandra and her sister Pam. Sandra was a very smart young lady and my heart breaks for her twin and her family . May she Rest In Peace in the comforting arms of our Lord. God bless and keep you all. Rhonda
