ORLEANS – Sherman Levi Jones, Jr., 67, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Mitchell Manor.

Born April 6, 1954, in Bedford, he was the son of Sherman Levi and Alice (Chastain) Jones. Sr.  He married Patricia Ann Hadley December 21, 1974.

Sherman was a mechanic and had worked at 4-Points and King’s Automotive.  He loved working on cars and fishing and enjoyed building models.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.

Surviving:             wife, Patricia Jones of Orleans  

                       children, Timothy Lee Jones of Bedford

                                      Angela Dawn Jones of Texas

                                      James DeWayne Jones of Scottsburg

                                      8 grandchildren

                           sister, Evelyn Lavonne “Bonnie” Cooper of Bedford

His parents; son; great-granddaughter, Abigail Jones; and sister, Rita Randolph, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Tom Bostic officiating.

    I'm so sorry to hear about his death. I have many fond memories of him. We were neighbors for many years growing up. These memories will live forever in my mind. Sherman you will live forever in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace buddy.

    Hey you old man i hope you are finally at peace and not hurting anymore. What kind of car are you working on? Is the person helping you at least holding the flashlight right? Man what I wouldn't give to hear your voice right now even if you would be yelling 🙂🙂 I love you so much dad and don't worry about mom well take care of her and I'll see you later and hopefully that car is fixed so we can go cruising in it by the time I get there

    Lee we missed you more each day.You have gain your wings to fly.We feel you and see you at times.We had great times fishing ,family gatherings,and you telling stories about what you have done growing up and in the service.You was a great husband,dad,and Papa.We have been talking about the big V Christmas tree that we had to put in the family room cause it wouldnot fit anywhere else.We love you .,Patty and family.
