MITCHELL – Thomas Ray Smith, 71, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at his home.

Born August 29, 1949, in Kokomo, he was the son of Gayle F. and Margaret Pauline “Pauline” (Isom) Smith.  He married Pamela Jean Montgomery November 29, 1996.

Tom was a 1967 graduate of Western High School.  He retired from General Motors and had also been employed by Lanny Williams in security.  Tom was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 250. 

He enjoyed watching Formula One Racing, NASCAR, Indiana Pacers, and IU basketball. Tom enjoyed attending concerts at the Mitchell Opera House.

His parents and great nephew preceded him in death.

Cremation was chosen. Interment will be at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, at Mitchell Cemetery.

The family would like to extend appreciation to Southern Care Hospice, Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services, and Indiana University Health Oncology.
