MITCHELL Velma M. Walker, 86, Mitchell, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at her residence.
Born October 4, 1923, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Noah Franklin and Nora (Edwards) Barnes. She married Kermit Paul Walker December 20, 1942.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church and Tri Kappa. Velma graduated from Mitchell High School in 1942.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
