SALEM –Vilena Catherine (Grissom) Leger, 76, formerly of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Salem Crossing.

Born September 21, 1945, in Bryantsville, she was the daughter of William Milton and Violet Pearl (Ryburn) Grissom.

Vilena drove a truck for FedEx and later in life, she was a home healthcare provider.

She graduated from Mitchell High School with the Class of 1963.

Surviving:         son, Brent (Melissa) Price of Salem

               grandson, Lane Price of Salem

      granddaughter, Mallory Price of Salem

                                several nieces and nephews

Her parents; sister, Martha Atchason; four brothers, Douglas, Ryburn, Richard (Dick), and Forrest; and nephew, Doug Atchason, preceded her in death. 

She was also preceded in death by her beloved dogs, Gracie, Petie, and Bently.

Cremation has been chosen with burial at Bryantsville Cemetery at a later date.

    I did not know Vilena well but her niece, Jan is my best friend, so I knew a lot about her and how much she thought of her Aunt Vilena. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Family and Jan in the loss of her aunt.
