ORLEANS – William Allen Thompson, 55, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his residence.

Born April 11, 1967, in Lawrence County, he was the son of William Michael and Judith Kay (Covey) Thompson.

William worked at GE on assembly and in the warehouse.

Surviving are his children, Michael Allen (Whitley Souder) Thompson of Bedford and Joshua Dale Thompson of Bedford; father, William Michael Thompson of Nelsonville, Ohio; companion, Pam Nicholson and her son, Devin (Shay) Nicholson, of Bedford; and the mother of the children, Kelly R. Thompson of Bedford.

His mother preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Cremation will follow.

    Allen was my brother. No step label existed between us. We grew up close as kids. Big sock battles roared until wee hours of the mornings. He and his brother Dale , who passed in 1986 at the age of 14 was his buddy. They would trade punches and horse around all the times. Allen you will be missed for sure. I’ll no longer hear “Hey Jayyy” in that thick southern Indiana accent. No longer hear “ ya tuurd”. Allen moved back to Indiana and it’s was hard to stay as close as we’re used to be. I’d be on duty on my patrol car , he would call me just about every night, or at least text me. He cried when he found out I had diabetes and wished I didn’t have to fight it. He was a loving brother, one I will always cherish and have mementoes of.

    Pam, Allen was a true friend for the last 30 + years. We meet in 1979 Always had a SMILE AND A JOKE TO TELL. Im so sorry my friend. I have to work Thursday .However your in my heart and Prayers. I love ya Girl. I'm praying for comfort for the whole family.
