MITCHELL – Harold Eugene Sanders, 72, passed away at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at his home.

Born April 11, 1943, in Orange County, he was the son of Arthur and Addie (Starrett) Sanders.  He married Rondee Cheryl Quackenbush September 29, 1963.

Harold was a heavy equipment operator and a member of IBW Local 1393. He worked many years at E. L. Myers Electrical.  He was a member of Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F. & A.M., and Sons of American Legion Post No. 250.  Harold loved traveling in his motor home, hunting mushrooms, playing cards, and talking with his friends.  He and his wife enjoyed counting deer and driving around in the golf cart.

His parents; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Renee and John Payton; grandson, Jonah Lee Grubb; and siblings, Arthur Leroy Sanders, Henry Earl Sanders, and Lula Price, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating.  A graveside service will be at11:00 a.m. Thursday at Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
