MITCHELL – Ella Rowena Brooks, 93, Mitchell, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006, at Bedford Reginal Medical Center.
Born February 3, 1913, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Ellis and Verna F. (Green) White. She married Jonathan D. Brooks June 30, 1934, and he preceded her in death November 9, 2001.
She was a clerk for the Indiana Gas Company and a secretary at Brooks Metal Shop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and graduated in 1931 from Mitchell High School.

Her parents, husband, sisters: Ellen Cargas, Geneva Mann, Goldie McClintic, Priscilla Mann, Shirley Ann Cocks; and brother, John Paul White, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Graham officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Monay at the funeral home.
