MITCHELL – Jack Lee Middleton, 69, passed away, Sunday, September 19, 2021, at his home.

Born August 8, 1952, in Mitchell, he was the son of Jack Joseph and Trilbia Estel (Flora) Middleton.  He married Veronica Denise Gould June 7, 1994.

Jack was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.   He retired from Dana Corporation and was a 1970 graduate of Mitchell High School. Jack enjoyed working in the yard, being outdoors, his pets, and building model cars.

His father preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Lee Hupp officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

    I’m so sorry to hear this, We lived next door to Jack and his parents for a few years a long time ago. They were great neighbors and my brother spent a lot of time with Jack and I sometimes. He was always fun to be around. My prayers go out to his entire family. RIP Jack !!!

    Sorry to hear about Jack. I remember working with him at Dana. I believe he was a set up man at the time. Always had a very friendly smile. I remember talking to him many times about different things. Sorry for the family. He was a good one. I did not know that he served in Vietnam but I do now and he should be noted for his service to his country. Jack will be missed.

    It's hard to find the right words. Jack and I were best friends for many years. Sadly, we sort of lost touch after Dana closed and I eventually moved away from Mitchell.
