MITCHELL – Jason Ray Wesner, 44, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born November 10, 1980, in Bedford, he was the son of Kermit Ray Wesner and Karen (Taylor) Suddarth.

Jason worked for the Lawrence County Solid Waste Management District at the Recycling Center. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and playing basketball with his son. Jason loved spending time with his kids and his grandbaby.

Surviving are his children, Skylar Workman of Bloomington, Yasmin Wesner of Mitchell, and Tanner Wesner of Mitchell; granddaughter, Aspen Guthrie of Mitchell; life partner of 25 years, Jori Workman of Mitchell; mother and stepfather, Karen (Scott) Suddarth of Orleans; sisters, Jessica (Kaz) Richardson of Mitchell, Morgan (Evan) Morris of Mitchell, and Tasha (Cas) Wesner of Paoli; and maternal grandmother, Geneva Taylor of Salem.

His father and grandfathers, Dwayne Taylor and Earl Wesner, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Greg Strother officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.

    Praying for Jori and his 3 kids and his grandchild, this seems so unreal we worked with Jason and Jori for 8 years at our previous job.     I went to school with Jason since kindergarten he was always so kind and polite that never changed as he got older then when him and jori got together I had 2 friends that I grew up on thing stands true he loved his family with all his heart God be with his family

    This is truly a sad day, haven't talked to him since high school but not one time did I ever have anything bad to say about the guy. He always a stand up guy, all the way through school, working at Mitchell Shell Gas Station, he was just a good guy point blank.
