MITCHELL Linda Kay Longest, 74, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at her residence.

Born December 1, 1946, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Virgil R. and Alice E. (Reece) Knight.

Linda was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of children.

Her parents; infant daughter, Susan Denise Longest; fathers of her children, Richard Longest and David Roop; long-time companion, William Edmonson; and siblings, Kenny Knight, Donnie Knight, and Judy Herald, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jerry Allen officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.                                      

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
