BEDFORD – Margaret Irma (Lane) Edwards, 94, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Stone Bridge Health Campus.

Born November 6, 1930, in Lee County, Virginia, she was the daughter of George Hasty and Polly Josephine (Campbell) Lane.  She married Glenn L. Edwards on June 10, 1950, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2019.

Margaret was a homemaker with many talents.  She greatly enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and cultivating her beloved roses.  Margaret was the family seamstress, making the family clothing, including cheerleader uniforms, and dresses for dances, proms, and weddings.  She was gifted with needle point and loved quilting.  Margaret was a member of the Bedford Free Methodist Church. 

Surviving are her daughters; Tereasa Kay (Steve) Chastain of Beverly Hills, Florida and Julia Ann (Danny) Williams of Bedford; grandchildren, Dustin (Cassie) Matlock of Bedford, Aaron Matlock and (Breana Mena) of Bedford; great-grandchildren, Allison (Josh) Flick, Carissa Matlock, Colton (McKenzie) Spires, Chloe (Chris Haste) Spires and, Conner Spires; great-great-grandchildren, Cooper Carl Flick, Adeline Flick, and Colter Flick; siblings, Carl Hounshell Jr. of Hernando, Mississippi, Bob (Melanie) Hounshell of Orleans, and Sue Hounshell Esboldt of Bedford.

Her parents; husband; siblings, Ruth Lane Russell, Ronald Lane, and Charles Hounshell, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, at Mitchell Cemetery with Reverend Adam Strauser officiating.
