MITCHELL – Mary Jane Beavers, 86, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at Meadow View Health & Rehabilitation.
Born November 23, 1937, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Everett Edgar and Minnie Frances (Gregory) Baker. Mary married Edward Lee Beavers on April 26, 1968 and he preceded her in death August 11, 2000.
Mary was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ. Over the years, she babysat many children. She loved dancing at the Mitchell Senior Center, cruising in the golf cart, and spending time with her companion.
Surviving are her partner, Jerry Wayne Bierly of Mitchell; siblings, Brenda Kay Poore of Bedford and Ben Baker of Columbia, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; and siblings, Anita Faye Thompson, William Everett Baker, and Robert Baker, preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Mike Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
