MITCHELL – Miriam “Middy” Hoover, 98, formerly of Evansville, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born June 5, 1914, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Edgar James and Lavinia (Xander) Eckensberger. She married Gilbert Hoover in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1970.
Miriam was a caregiver and a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church and the Evansville Coin Club.

Her parents; sister, Evelyn E. Quick; and brothers, Edgar James Eckensberger, Jr., J. Franklin “Hank” Eckensberger, and Willard Eckensberger, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Eric Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
