CAMPBELLSBURG – Renee Josette Meier, 48, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her residence, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

Born January 26, 1977, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Larry C. Bragg and Linda Ellen (Miller) Pridemore.

Renee attended Mitchell High School with the class of 1995.  She was a certified medical assistant and worked as an optometrist assistant at Sam’s Club Optical Center.  Renee was a patient advocate for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  She loved to cross stitch, grow and can vegetables, and work in her flower garden.  Renee loved the outdoors and enjoyed feeding the turtles in her pond.  She never met a stranger; she was very social, had a big heart, and was a very devoted mom.  Renee had a heart of gold.

Surviving are her son, Garrett Julian Meier of Campbellsburg; fiancé, Christopher Roy Evans of Campbellsburg; siblings, Marcy Wright of Morgantown and Alicia Knowles of Norman; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and fiancé’s mother, Rebecca Evans of Orleans.

Her parents and sister, Crystal Bragg, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dwight Dunbar and Pastor Marty Speer officiating.  Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial Gifts: Susan G. Komen Foundation

The family would like to give a special thank you to Flynn & Sons Excavating and Paving (Greg and Jenna Flynn) for their years of loving support.

I worked with Renee at the Sam’s Club. I ran the hearing aid center, which was right next to optical. I was fortunate to get to be around Renee. She was always so positive, full of laughter, funny stories, and a positive outlook on all that she was undergoing to survive Cancer. I loved meeting her family too. She always wanted the best for Garrett. It was clear she loved Chris so much. I’m grateful for the opportunity to get to know Renée. You were all in my prayers.

I didn't know Renee, but she lived a beautiful life it seems. It's honorable how many years she fought cancer. My condolences go out to all of the family during this time of loss and celebrating her life. Rest in peace Renee.

Let Garrett know that we are always here for him anytime. I will miss her kind comments. She was always encouraging me whether in person years ago or on fb. I appreciate her for helping me drink coffee. My kids got to enjoy time with G throughout the years. I know sometimes she needed someone to help him get out & have some fun! I wish we could’ve made it to visit. We will be out of town starting Sunday. I’m so sorry that we cannot make it. Renee has always been great to each of us. I had tears thinking of her. Hugs & keep the great memories in your heart ♥
