WILLIAMS — Roger Dale Lane, 51, embarked onto his journey home on March 12, 2014, after a brief illness.
Roger was born November 9, 1962, the son of Jesse B. Lane and Donna Kay (White) Lane.
He was currently a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250. He was previously employed at Carpenter Body Works, Dana Corporation and INDOT.
Roger was previously married to Beth Johnson.
He is survived by his parents, three brothers,
David and Tammy Lane, Jim and Michelle Lane, Bob and Betty Lane, all of Mitchell
one nephew, Bradley D. Lane of Mitchell.
Roger played a positive father role in the lives of many children, whom he considered his own, Mackenzie Hanover of Orleans, Cody McVay-Ray and Courtney Bowers, both of Medora and Audrey Wilkerson.
He is also survived by longtime companion and caretaker, Analee Hanover of Orleans.
Also surviving Roger are eight grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by niece, Jessica Lane, sister-in-law, Rita Lane, and Heidi Hanover, daughter. Also preceding him were both his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Flora White, and paternal grandparents, Mary and Jesse Lane.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
