BEDFORD  —  Ronald Lee  “Ronnie”  Tuddy, Sr., 62, passed away at 12:03 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born August 5, 1951, in Scottsburg, he was the son of John and Mildred (Robinson) Tuddy.  He married Offie Mae Lewis November 22, 1969.

He worked in the roofing industry since he was 16 years old.  He was employed with Doss Roofing until he went out on his own, retiring in 2010.  He was most known for his mechanical skills around southern Indiana.  He was an excellent driver, driving cars that he had built or repaired himself, in the drag racing field at the E. T. Track in Bloomfield.  He was a collector of knives and kept everything anyone ever gave him.

His parents and sister, Karen J. Turner, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, at Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

    Ronnie certainly loved the sport of drag racing!!!! He will be missed, May God bless the whole family at this difficult time.
