BEDFORD – Sheila Gail Blanton, 57, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Born September 23, 1965, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Jerry Simmons and Patsy Gail (Hayes) Beasley. She married Scot D. Blanton on June 11, 1999.

Sheila had worked at Walmart and graduated from Purvis High School in Mississippi.

Survivors include her husband, Scot Blanton of Bedford; sons, Justin Phillips of Arcata, California, Jason Phillips of Paoli, and Trey Blanton of Bedford; mother, Patsy Gail Beasley of Sumrall, Mississippi; and brother, Larry Wayne (Anita) Simmons of Sumrall, Mississippi.

Her father preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Aaron Wardlaw officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

I will always remember the good times we had at holidays and outings we had with Sheila and the rest of our family members. She was a great daughter-in-law and devoted to her family! Will miss her, but know she's with God and out of the misery that cancer brought upon her. Love you, Sheila, and will see you in heaven someday.
