MITCHELL – Alberta Irene “Birdie” King, 91, passed away Monday evening, January 2, 2017, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 16, 1925, in New Castle, she was the daughter of William Glenn and Josephine (Frazier) Prewitt. She married Wendell H. King January 2, 1947, and he preceded her in death May 30, 2006.
Alberta was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and knitting.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Nelson Lee officiating. Burial will be in Huron Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
