ORLEANS Annette Kathleen McCart, 54, Orleans, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at IU Health Bloomington. After a long battle with cancer, she passed in peace surrounded by her family.
Born February 25, 1958, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Harold and Nancy Alice (Wease) Ratliff of Bryantsville. She married Chris McCart April 21, 1979.
Annette graduated in 1976 from Mitchell High School and had lived in Charlotte County, Florida and the Mitchell area. She had worked at Formcraft in Mitchell, Mitchell Subway as manager, Older Americans in Orleans, and the shoe factory and Pizza Hut in Paoli. She was an extremely dedicated workereven working while going through chemo.
She was a very dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting others ahead of herself. She loved her home and family very much. She never complained, even while going through treatments. She also is a loyal follower of Jesus Christ, a member of the House of Prayer, and had been an officer in The Unchained Gang motorcycle ministry. She was a founding member of Lawrence County ABATE, Region 10.
She was an avid student of living history and participated in the Clark County Militia of 1812 reenactment.

Her parents; brothers, Jackie Lee Ratliff and an infant; and sister, Anita Kay Rhodes, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
