MITCHELL – Barbara Joan Lynn, 71, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at her residence.
Born May 22, 1951, in Anderson, she was the daughter of Robert and Wilma (Gilsdorf) McPherson. She married John R. Lynn on March 11, 1983, and he preceded her in death March 25, 2019.
Barbara worked as a unit coordinator at the Bloomington Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 250. Barbara loved making things out of gourds, crafting, and woodworking. She enjoyed riding horses. Barbara was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Sharon Prince of Bedford, Raymond Lynn of Bedford, Troy (Zina) Lynn of Florida, Tracy (Julie) Craig of California, Marlo Hurt of Mitchell, Nicole Mills of Mitchell, Candy (Brian) Poston of South Carolina, and Polly (Barry) Roach of Bedford; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Diane Pruett of Bedford, Nancy McPherson of Paoli, Jim (Jo) McPherson of Paoli, William McPherson of Philippines, and Annette Byrd of Pennsylvania.
Her parents; husband; and sister, Connie Grubb, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Ron Plumer officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
