MITCHELL – Bettie Marilyn Osborne, 90, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by her family, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 31, 1935, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Henry and Gladys (Connerley) Daughrity. She married Henry Clay Osborne on September 12, 1953 and he preceded her in death March 12, 2010.
Bettie was a 1953 graduate of Huron High School and attended Restoration Church of the Nazarene in Bedford. She liked to watch birds and loved spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Terrance “Terry” (Joetta) Osborne of Mitchell, Valena (John) Whitner of Bedford, Timothy “Tim” Osborne of Bedford, and Joe Osborne of Mitchell; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents; husband; children, Tracy Osborne and Vanessa Irwin; siblings, Jesse Daughrity, Delite Cauble, and Clifford Daughrity; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Steven Manley officiating. Burial will be in Connerley Switch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
