MITCHELL – Betty Joyce Rainey, 84, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born May 23, 1935, in Jonesville, Virginia, she was the daughter of Grady and Laura (Buttery) Ramsey.  She married Joe Rainey September 26, 1970, and he preceded her in death March 20, 2004.

Betty retired from Carpenter Body Works.  She was a member of American Legion Post No. 250 Auxiliary, Mitchell Senior Citizens, and a graduate of Orleans High School in 1952.   Betty loved to dance and enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Her parents; husband; sister, Beulah Eads; and brother, Avil Ramsey preceded her in death.

A family service will be Thursday, May 7, with burial in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Reverend Steve Jones will officiate.
