MITCHELL – Billy Jack Lashlee, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at his residence.

Born October 10, 1953, in Malvern, Arkansas, he was the son of Billie Benson “Red” and Virginia Lee (Burton) Lashlee.  He married Kimberly Louise (Hart) Smoot October 15, 2013.

Jack retired from Naval Weapons Support Center — Crane.  He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1971 and was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Indiana National Guard.    Jack was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post No. 250 and a past director of the Legion Riders.  He was a former member of Masonic Lodge No. 228 F.&A.M. and La-Or-Ma Shrine Club.

Jack loved his family, dogs, and riding his motorcycle.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed golf and rodeos.  Jack was well known for his red beans and rice.

               step children, Scott (Mindy) Smoot of Mitchell

                                     Stephanie Jones of Scottsburg

             grandchildren, Jackie Sears, Alexandra (Shannon) Jones, Chase Sears, Tevin

                                     Lashlee, Dayson Lashlee, Preston Lashlee, Owen Smoot, Willy

                                     Smoot and Gunner McNabb

                       brother, Bob Burton Lashlee of Kokomo

His parents and infant sister, Della Sue Lashlee, preceded him in death.

Cremation was chosen with a celebration of life at a later date.

    Sorry to hear this .my condolence to his family.i was in the gaurds with him back in the 80's we drove the duce and halfs togeither when we went to summer camp.ill sure miss him but have memories of him always .rip my friend

    Jack was a great friend. We lost contact with each other witch makes me sad. I will definitely miss the bike rides and fun nights at the legion with him and Kim. Love and prayers to your family.
