SANTA CLAUS – Billy Joe “Bill” Barlow, 72, PO Box 275, Santa Claus, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Bloomington Hospital.

Born March 27, 1934, in Mitchell, he was the son of Solomon Jesse and Margie Belle (Hancock) Barlow. He married Rachel Lynne Yates September 14, 1956.

He was a member of the Mitchell Business Community and owner of Barlow Insurance Service since 1973. Bill was in the insurance industry his entire professional life.

He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.

He was a 60-year member of the First Baptist Church in Mitchell, and for the past several years a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church in Santa Claus, and Gideons International.

His parents; infant daughter, Elizabeth Belle Barlow; sister, Alice Westerfield; and brother, Kenneth Barlow, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, in the First Baptist Church at Mitchell with Brother Ron Moyer, Brother Wayne Jenkins, and Brother Mike Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery at Santa Claus at 4:00 p.m. EDT with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from noon until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeal Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Monday at the church.
