MITCHELL Blanche E. Bowden, 89, Mitchell, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 12, 1921, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Perry and Emma (Pipher) Batchelor. She married Bernard N. Bernie Bowden March 28, 1937, and he preceded her in death May 10, 1997.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

Her parents; sisters, Ethel (Batchelor) Bowden and an infant; brother, Clinton Batchelor; grandchildren, Deanna (Gross) Sipes and Craig Bowden; and great granddaughters, Vanessa Benham and Jennifer Kay Bowden, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, in the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mark Bechtel officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.
