WILLIAMS Candace Kay Kern, 58, Williams, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008, at her residence.

Born May 28, 1950, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Jackie Lee and Maxine Agnes (Gilstrap) Doub. She married Amel K. Kern June 24, 1966.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mitchell Presbyterian Church. She had been a member of Phi Beta Psi sorority, and was a Brownie Leader and cookie chairman of the Girl Scouts Tulip Trace Council. Candy was a painter and wallpaper hanger and had been employed at the Jay C Store, United Technologies, Hoosier Uplands, Just Kids Daycare, and Cedar Hill. She had also been the owner of the Bric-Brac Shop in Mitchell.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, in the Mitchell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will be in Bryantsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the church.

Memorial Gifts: James Graham Brown Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.

    Nana I miss you so so much you were my everything and we talked bout everything together I miss my best friend and my nanner I know your watching me and my family I bet your so proud of me and my daddy I know I am I wish you could of meet bubby I know that ur watching him tho and jobie he is a great husband I love him so much I wish he could of meet you to I love you Nana every time I see a butterfly in the summer time I think about you :) I will never forget you ever you'll always be in my heart and ur missed so much by everyone and the family my mom makes stuff for you and takes it to hang on ur grave she miss you a lot to we could all use are nana love you your granddaughter stacia<3
