MITCHELL – Cathy Ann Jones, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at her residence.

Born December 30, 1954, in Orleans, she was the daughter of Carl Frederick “Fred” and Sylvia Faye (Bell) Watterson.  Cathy married Roger Dean Jones on May 13, 1998, and he survives.

Cathy worked as a housekeeper at French Lick Hotel.  She had a strong love of animals and the country life.

Surviving are her husband, Roger Dean Jones of Mitchell; son, Alan Gene Watterson of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Alec, Cameron, and Olivia; and brother, Dennis F. (Brenda) Watterson of Mitchell.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Dennis Watterson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Cremation will follow.

    Cathy was so kind & sweet with everyone. She loved people and animals. We loved her too , such a beautiful soul. We will miss Cathy , prayers for her husband Rodger, her son Alan & family.and her brother Dennis and his family. The sweet cousin will be missed.

    Such a sweet lady. When I worked at DG, she was in one day, and had been wearing her Moms rings ( she had recently passed) and she lost them. I found them, put them in the safe, she called later, asking if they had been found. I told her yes, I had put them in the safe. When she came to pick them up, she had brought me a hanging plant. I told her that was ok, no need to do that, but she wouldn't take it. I never forgot her for thst. RIP dear lady.💖🙏💖
