MITCHELL – Charles Ara Houchin, 76, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 11, 1940, in Mitchell, he was the son of Leslie E. and Freda (Vincent) Houchin.

Charles was retired from Mitchell Transport and was a graduate of Mitchell High School in 1958.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

His parents; and siblings, Marvin Houchin and Kathy Cummings, preceded him in death.

Cremation was chosen with burial at a later date in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.  There is no scheduled visitation.

    For Carol and family so sorry for your loss know how hard it is to loose a brother have lost two now over the years...My prayers are with you.And to Shannon I remember all to well as kids running around going to your Dad's trailer for bonfires good memories. I know your all so sad and will miss him very much try and hang on to the memories.
