MITCHELL – Charles Edwin Lindsey, 86, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his residence.
Born March 19, 1940, in Orangeville, he was the son of Harold Otis and Rhoda Pearl (Halbert) Lindsey. He married Patricia Ann Glenn on December 10, 1956 and she preceded him in death October 22, 2024.
Charles retired from General Motors, working as a machine operator in the Piston Department. He was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church. Charles loved gardening and cooking – especially for his grandchildren, and he was a devoted husband and father.
Surviving are his children, Suzi (Don) Wyttenback of Mitchell, Greg Lindsey of Mitchell, and A.J. (Megan) Lindsey of Seymour; grandchildren, Jennifer Davies, Larry (Karen Kern) Hensley, Dustin Hensley, Leslea Lindsey, Evan Lindsey, Nick (Shaylah) Lindsey, Cyrus Lindsey, and Emerson Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Matthew Hensley, Madison Hensley, Charleston Davies, Christian Davies, Emery Lindsey, Novaleeh Lindsey, Lennox Stephens, London Stephens, Wiley Nelson, and Serena Walls; and sister, Wanda Helton of Mitchell.
His parents, wife, and sister, Mildred Tarr, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, and from noon until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
