MITCHELL – Charles Robert “Bob” Van Hoy, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at his residence.
Born December 27, 1937, in Martin County, he was the son of Hugh and Addie (Walton) Van Hoy. He married Judith Ann Kelley on June 24, 1966, and she preceded him in death April 15, 2013.
Bob was part-owner and operator of Van Hoy Heating & Cooling for many years. He was a 1956 graduate of Monroe City High School and a U. S. Army Veteran. Bob was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed horseback riding and traveling out West and having breakfast with his friends. Bob was an avid fisherman who competed in many Bass tournaments over the years. He loved spending the day at the lake with his close friends and his grandson. His family was everything to him.
Survivors include his son, Charles Stacy (Brandy) Van Hoy of Bedford; grandchildren, Savanna Lee and Charles Seaver Van Hoy; and sister, Alice Isom of Mitchell.
His parents; wife; sons, Scott David Van Hoy and Infant Ricky Van Hoy; and siblings, Mike Van Hoy, Marilyn Ray, and Richard “Rick” Van Hoy, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 14, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastors Greg Isom and Don McNabb officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church.
